They come pre-cut according to your specs with three sides assembled and a common miter lock for attaching the fourth side.  We pin the pieces to preven slippage during shipping. Once they are at the job site, all you have to di is slide the partially assembled column around the existing post, shim as necessary and glue/pin the fourth side into place. The support posts are hidden and you have completed columns with snug, flawlessly concealed joints.
